Camylia Funtimeee I’ve listened to ajoura for like three or four years but never bought his musics. Now that he stopped uploading any kind of stuff, I think it’s time for me to pay tribute to the most talented artist I’ve ever listened to. Favorite track: Rolling Pile.

about

After two years of soul-searching, Sergei "Ajoura" Titarev is finally back with his new sound - now nearly all instruments are recorded live and played by single person!
This album is an attempt to research and experiment on the concept of choro - a Brazilian genre of instrumental music which fuses African rhythms with European musical forms and melodies.

Choro purists tend not to drive too far from the boundaries of genre, keeping the same rhythms and/or instrumental sets. This leads not only to steady and recognizable genre, but also to slow-paced progress and a lot of similarities between works made in this genre.
So, what will happen if a Russian experimental musician will do the choro in his own way?

Trying to keep the genre traditions as much as he can, Ajoura incorporates elements of French musette, jazz fusion, neo-Baroque and toy music in choro, sculpting his own style. Did he succeed? You decide it - and meanwhile, have a cup of positive and perky mood.
